MILLHOUSE

Steeped in local history, the mill house with it’s statuesque Willow and mill pond needed a big green influence wrapping around it.

With natural springs and blue clay soil, planting was raised in bespoke steel beds with subtle curving corners to marry with the circular shapes of pond and millstones.

A beautifully crafted local stone wall was constructed, creating a focal point and a visual anchor for the house with level changes to the lawn sculpted by banks of Hornbeam.

Planting around the kitchen courtyard is soft, flowing and scented, with the large beds to the front of the house holding Amelanchier and Cotinus sat within native flowering lawns.
